Working Paper 45. Bern and Lausanne: Health Promotion Switzerland.
We carry out structured audits and evaluations of institutions and programs. In terms of developing a quality culture, evaluations help you to review your performance and to optimize it within the framework of existing development processes. The evaluation process comprises a range of instruments, from expert reviews, workshops, site visits by international peer groups, to scientometric analyses. If desired, we combine evaluations and site visits with subsequent strategy consultation.
We help you to evaluate the degree of innovation and the potential of scientific and technical projects and portfolios. This service can be combined with our quality assurance services to assess the potential of a research team or institution, to guide the project effectively through development, and to identify ways to strengthen your competitiveness and overcome technical barriers.
The evaluation examined the quality and efficiency of processes, structures and governance, using an “Informed Peer Review” methodology adapted from the evaluation process developed at the University of Zurich.
A biologics manufacturer wanted an independent view on the merits of acquiring a company that had developed a novel production technology. We assembled a project team of experts from the UK and the US to work with the client’s R&D experts. A list of questions for the experts were prepared by us in collaboration with the client. The expert’s responses formed the basis of a lively web-ex discussion in which we drilled down to uncover several fundamental concerns about the longterm benefits of the acquisition. The client decided not to acquire the technology, saving many millions, but also developed a more clear definition of the technology they really needed.
An investment company owning a stake in a publicly listed biotech company in the field of immunology wanted to get an independent opinion on the performance and potential of the company’s individual development programs. EvalueScience was contracted to perform scientific due diligence on the company’s technology and product portfolio.
